Privacy Policy
This policy covers weddingfinancialplanner.com and the Wedding Planning Suite application at app.weddingfinancialplanner.com. It describes what we actually collect and who actually receives it — not a generic list of everything a website could theoretically do.
Who we are
The Wedding Planning Suite (“we”, “us”) sells a wedding budget planning product. For questions about this policy or your data, email hello@weddingfinancialplanner.com.
What we collect
When you use the budget calculator
The calculator runs in your browser. Your budget, guest count, city and priority are not sent anywhere unless you ask for the full breakdown by email. If you do, we receive your email address along with those four inputs so the email can contain your own numbers.
When you buy
Payment is handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number — Stripe sends us your email address, the amount, and a payment identifier so we can grant access and send a receipt.
When you use the product
Everything you enter into your workspace — budget figures, guest list, vendor records, tasks, notes — is stored so the product can function. It is scoped to your account. Other customers cannot read, change or delete it, and we do not use it to train anything or sell it to anyone.
Automatically
Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested), and advertising identifiers described below.
Advertising and analytics
We advertise on Meta (Facebook and Instagram). Two things follow from that, and both are worth stating plainly:
- The Meta Pixel runs on this site and sets cookies (
_fbp,_fbc) that let Meta recognise you across sites. - We also use Meta’s Conversions API, which sends events from our server. When you submit your email or complete a purchase, your email address is hashed (SHA-256) before it is sent to Meta so they can match the event to an account. Meta receives the hash, not the plain address.
You can limit this in your Meta ad settings, and most browsers let you block third-party cookies. The site works either way.
Who else receives your data
We use a small number of processors, each for one job:
- Stripe — payments. Receives your email and payment details directly.
- Resend — sends your receipt, access link and requested breakdowns.
- Klaviyo — marketing email. Receives your address and purchase history if you opt in.
- Vercel — hosting. Processes requests and keeps server logs.
- Neon — the database behind the product.
- Meta — advertising, as described above.
We do not sell your personal information, and we never have.
Cookies
The product sets one essential cookie (cwps_session) to keep you signed in. It is httpOnly and sameSite=lax, and the product cannot work without it. The Meta Pixel sets the advertising cookies described above. We do not use cookies for anything else.
How long we keep things
- Workspace data — until you ask us to delete it.
- Email address — until you unsubscribe or ask for deletion.
- Payment records — as long as tax and accounting rules require, typically seven years.
- Server logs — a short rolling window, then discarded.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can email hello@weddingfinancialplanner.com and ask us to send you a copy of your data, correct it, or delete it. We will do it, and we will not make you explain why.
If you are in the EU or UK, the GDPR gives you those rights formally, plus the right to object to processing and to complain to your data protection authority. Our lawful bases are performance of a contract (running the product you bought), consent (marketing email, advertising cookies) and legitimate interests (keeping the service secure).
If you are in California, the CCPA gives you the right to know what we collect, to delete it, and to opt out of sale — and again, we do not sell personal information.
Children
This is a product for adults planning a wedding. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
Security
Passwords are hashed with scrypt and a unique salt per password; we cannot read them. Data is encrypted in transit. Each customer’s workspace is isolated at the database level, so one account cannot reach another’s records.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top and, where the change affects how we use data you have already given us, email you about it.
